Teaching about Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) allows community members to make informed decisions about their own health.
Increased awareness of WASH maximises the benefits of the clean water facilities. The technologies alone are not enough without the knowledge to maximise the benfits of the tanks and water sources.
LBA sensitises community members on how to keep water clean and safe from the point it is collected until the point it is consumed, as well as how to reduce water related diseases, and improve the health of the family. This includes hygiene and sanitation in the community and at home. LBA also trains community members on how to purify their water with the locally available Moringa seed so it is safe for drinking.
LBA uses non-formal education, including art, drama, dance, music, mime and stories, to make learning fun and easy, and most importantly, applicable to the local context.
