Ringwood School is located in Hampshire in South
England. It is a school with 1600 students of all abilities aged
11-18, who live in Ringwood Town and its surrounding areas. Students pay money to wear non-uniform to school for a day. This money is used to support different charities. In 2006, this money went to Little Big Africa to fund the protection of a water source to provide clean water in Bukakhosi. Mrs Taylor (Head of Year 11) went out to Uganda for the summer to commission the water source on behalf of Ringwood School. She says, “We were really lucky to get to spend some time with the staff and students at Bukakhosi Primary School. They were all so welcoming and enthusiastic, it was a real pleasure and an experience I will never forget. The water-source had been created through real community involvement and pride, and it was incredibly humbling to see so much pride and passion involved in the project."
