| Bexton Primary school is a large mixed primary school in Knutsford, Cheshire catering for 400+ four to eleven year olds. It is set in its own grounds which include two adventure playgrounds, an astro turf and woodland areas and is in walking distance of the delightful country town of Knutsford and the country house Tatton Park. The town is situated near Manchester Airport and in commuting distance of Manchester. The school aims ‘to develop lively and enquiring minds that acquire knowledge and skills relevant to their needs now and in the future.’ A teacher at the school has just returned from a visit to her daughter in Uganda, who has worked as a volunteer building a clean water source and water tank for Nemba Primary School and who has been involved in water hygiene education. Whilst in Uganda the teacher and her family were able to visit Nemba and paint one of the classrooms. On her return she was keen to establish cultural links with Nemba and to raise money towards the development of the school. The children and the school council are keen to share stories of their lives with the children at Nemba and to raise money. Several activities have been planned during National storytelling week and World Book Day so that they can contribute to completing the construction of three classrooms, buying books and providing more latrines.
