LBA community members have shown their appreciation in many ways and here are a just a few quotations.
      1. Protected Spring
“The LBA protected spring is so helpful to the community and the nearby school. It is the major source of water in the area, with over 100 households [approximately 700 people] using it. Things have been so much better after the spring was protected. Before, some people only had access to the contaminated stream for water for their families. During the dry season when other springs dry up, people come from so far to use the protected spring, which never dries up. It has helped a lot of people”

Committee Member, Rumbura Spring

2. Protected Spring
“I am very pleased to write to you at Little Big Africa to extend our appreciation for the effort made in assisting our community. The water source you provided has tremendously improved life at school and in the entire community.”

Buyera Simon Peter, Headmaster

3. Reading books
“Little Big Africa’s recent donation of reading books, pencils and other materials have registered a positive impact on the pupils. The pupils enjoy reading stories and other affairs which has led them to improve their language skills. Almost 250 pupils use these books. Although we lack a library, efforts are always made to have the books in pupils’ hands. Once again, I thank you for your support. Long live Little Big Africa.”

Headmaster, Bukhakosi PS

4. Fuel Efficient Stove
“The LBA volunteers were telling us how much the stoves would help us by reducing cooking time and reducing the amount of firewood needed to cook. My wife spends all day cooking and collecting firewood so I decided to build one as a gift for her. I learnt from the LBA volunteers and the week after they left, I set to work in the kitchen. It was easy to build and took me less than one day as the volunteers had demonstrated it well to us. The results are amazing. Now my wife is free to move out of the kitchen. It takes her such a short amount of time to cook that now she can even wait for me to come home before she starts cooking [as food cooks so fast I don’t have to wait for long].

Mzee, Burukuru.
